    May 11, 2022 - James Ijames, associate professor of Theatre in 澳门二分彩’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the 2022 Pulitzer Prize Winner in Drama. The Pulitzer Prize for Drama is given to a distinguished play by an American author, preferably original in its source and dealing with American life. A playwright, educator, director and performer, Ijames was awarded the Pulitzer for his play Fat Ham, a “loose,” according to the playwright, adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

  • History Graduate Students Curate New Exhibit for Villanova Art Gallery

    May 5, 2022 - Graduate history students celebrated the culmination of their semester-long public history practicum project with the opening reception of a new exhibit, Dox Thrash: Painted, Not Printed, in the 澳门二分彩 Art Gallery on Friday, April 29. The exhibit is open to the public through May 14 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Psychology Master's Student Wins 2022 Villanova Three Minute Thesis Competition

    April 29, 2022 - 澳门二分彩 graduate psychology student Sam Sinemus took first place in the University's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition in the Mullen Center for the Performing Arts earlier this year for his presentation "The Impact of Modeling Mental States on Goal-Directed Conversations." Sinemus advanced to the Northeast Regional Competition, held virtually on April 28.

  • Environmental Science Grads Embark on Diverse Careers

    April 21, 2022 - The 澳门二分彩 master's program in Environmental Science supports research in a wide range of scholarly interests that span the scope of geography, biology, chemistry and geology and intersect at the nexus of environmental issues. Students learn to see beyond linear and fragmented approaches to solving environmental problems to understand the complex interactions between people and the environment. Because of this philosophy, students are prepared for careers in government, academic or commercial fields, or to continue their education in top PhD programs.   • Political Science Grad Focuses on Combating Inequities in Healthcare

    April 20, 2022 - During her time at 澳门二分彩, Political Science master's program graduate Danielle Burns '20 CLAS, '21 MA, focused her research on archival recovery, racial and gender equity, and global politics. Today, she serves as a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant, working to create programs and initiatives to help combat health inequities and bias in the healthcare industry.

  • Villanova Theatre Alum Pens New Play About James Forten for the Museum of the American Revolution

    March 25, 2022 - 澳门二分彩 Theatre alumna Marissa Kennedy ’18 MA approached the project with the same enthusiasm, determination and creativity that has propelled her budding artistic career. She also drew inspiration from a connection to her own family’s values that she discovered while researching her new play about the life of James Forten, written for the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

  • Theology PhD Student Earns Prominent Resident Fellowship to Further Research

    January 24, 2022 - 澳门二分彩 Theology doctoral candidate the Rev. Andre L. Price, MDiv, will be spending the Fall 2022 semester at the Collegeville Institute in Collegeville, Minnesota, as a Bishop Thomas Hoyt Fellow. The fellowship will provide Price, who also serves as senior pastor at Mount Olivet Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, an opportunity to work on his dissertation, titled “God of our Weary Years,” and engage with other theological scholars from diverse backgrounds in research, community and prayer.

  • Leaning into the Villanova Community: Graduate English Alum and Michigan PhD Student Shares Advice for the Graduate Student Journey

    January 24, 2022 - Olivia Stowell ’21 MA, a graduate of the 澳门二分彩 master’s program in English, recently completed her first semester as a doctoral candidate in Communication and Media at the University of Michigan. A researcher of race and ethnicity, especially within food and cooking television, Stowell published her first academic article “There’s Certainly a Lot of History Here, But We’re Here to Roast Oysters: Afterlives of Trans-Atlantic Exchange in Top Chef: Charleston” in the journal Television and New Media in January 2022. Presently, she’s co-editing a collection of essays on dark academia for Post45 Contemporaries to be published in February.
