When Vincent Guerrero began researching online bachelor鈥檚 programs, Villanova鈥檚 College of Professional Studies shot quickly to the top of his list. Guerrero was attracted to Villanova鈥檚 reputation and impressed by how CPS had extended the University鈥檚 distinctive academics into the online space. He wanted flexibility without sacrificing academic rigor, and that鈥檚 what he found after enrolling in CPS鈥檚 Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program in Leadership.

Guerrero reflects, 鈥淲hen I started at Villanova, my career at Yale was taking a new path. Until that point, I had been the technical problem-solver, but I started to make a transition toward leadership. My role has continued to be more and more strategic, and Villanova has allowed me to focus on what is important for me at this time in my career. All of the courses that I鈥檝e taken have covered a lot of great content that is applicable to what I do on a daily basis.鈥 聽

A highlight of Guerrero鈥檚 time as a Villanova student was a course, titled COVID-19 Professional Perspectives, taught by CPS Dean Christine Palus. As part of the course, Dean Palus invited guests from other Villanova departments and from the greater Philadelphia business community to address the challenges and innovations they experienced during the pandemic and provide students with their perspectives on management and leadership during crises. 鈥淭heir input was fantastic鈥攊t was very specific to the content we were working on,鈥 Guerrero says. 鈥淏eyond that, just the fact that our dean made the time to teach and to connect with the students reinforced the value of being part of this community.鈥
