MARKETING
The Department of Marketing and Business Law encourages students to pursue a study abroad experience within their Marketing major. Studying marketing abroad can open many doors鈥搘hether you are doing a deep dive into what international marketing looks like in a different part of the world, or expanding your knowledge about different marketing topics. There are plenty of options for students pursuing a marketing major through VSB.
Along with taking courses toward the Marketing major, students should consider personal and professional opportunities that come with studying in a foreign country, such as internships and research.
As with most other VSB majors, it is important to begin thinking and planning the study abroad process early. Early planning will allow students to have a firm understanding of what can be taken abroad and what needs to be completed on campus.
鈥疘t should be noted that 鈥痜irst-year鈥疺SB students cannot study abroad (with the exception of the Global Citizens Program), and鈥痵tudents must meet prerequisite requirements for their overseas institution.鈥��
鈥疶ell your academic advisor that you are interested in studying abroad at each registration appointment. Together, identify the best terms to go abroad, based on the courses in your four-year plan.
Some things to consider for鈥疢anagement majors:鈥��
- You can take up to two MKT courses abroad.
MKT courses often cross-list with other VSB majors and minors 鈥� like International Business
- If you are interested in pursuing a second major or minor, you should consult with your Clay Center advisor to understand the implications.鈥��
- IB Co-Majors: a minimum of six credits of programming abroad must be completed (semester, summer or combination of two May-term programs) to fulfill requirements for the IB Co-major.
Search the OEA Course Approval History database to select from more than 3,000 study abroad courses that have already been pre-approved for liberal education requirements and a growing list of technical courses.
The Course Approval History database is not exhaustive and students can work with an OEA advisor to submit additional courses for review.
Don't forget - VSB has a list of policies and limitations specifically focused on study abroad. Make sure you're aware of these as you plan your overseas experience.

Study abroad opportunities are not limited to formal instruction. Consider taking advantage of the unique research, internship and fieldwork opportunities available in different regions of the world. This not only expands your personal and professional network, but gives you critical intercultural skills as well as direct hands-on experience.
Two exciting academic tracks: BCIC (Business and Culture in the Italian Context) or CoSMIC (Communication, Society and Marketing in the Italian Context)
Incorporates an internship into the semester, connecting coursework to a field experience.
With sites in Copenhagen and Stockholm, DIS offers programs in Business, Economics, Finance, and more. The included study tours are a great draw for many students.
IES Abroad offers supported direct enrollment and study center-based programs in a variety of locations around the world.

It is important to plan ahead as it is not uncommon for scholarship deadlines to occur much earlier than a Villanova or program application deadlines.
There are many scholarships available for students through 澳门二分彩, our partner programs and other external sources, like the US Government. The OEA can help students with the scholarship search and application process. If a scholarship is found outside of the OEA scholarship page, students should have it reviewed by the OEA to determine if it is a viable option.
