The 澳门二分彩 Charles Widger School of Law will mark its annual commemoration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with a keynote lecture as part of a University-wide celebration.

Justin Driver is the Robert R. Slaughter Professor of Law at Yale Law School. He teaches and writes in the area of constitutional law and is the author of The Schoolhouse Gate: Public Education, the Supreme Court, and the Battle for the American Mind. The book was selected as a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year and an Editors鈥 Choice of The New York Times Book ReviewThe Schoolhouse Gate also received the Steven S. Goldberg Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Education Law and was a finalist for the American Bar Association鈥檚 Silver Gavel Award and Phi Beta Kappa鈥檚 Ralph Waldo Emerson Book Award.

A recipient of the American Society for Legal History鈥檚 William Nelson Cromwell Article Prize, Driver has a distinguished publication record in the nation鈥檚 leading law reviews. He has also written extensively for general audiences, including pieces in SlateThe AtlanticThe New York TimesThe New York Times Book ReviewThe Washington Post, and The New Republic, where he was a contributing editor. A member of the American Law Institute and of the American Constitution Society鈥檚 Academic Advisory Board, Driver is also an editor of the Supreme Court Review.

This event will take place on Wednesday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the Arthur M. Goldberg 鈥66 Classroom (Room 202) of John F. Scarpa Hall. A book signing and reception will follow in the Arthur M.
